John Vachon photographed the actress in the Canadian Rockies in the summer of 1953, and the photos haven’t been seen since (only three made it into the glossy). The portraits are now being published in a book entitledMarilyn, August 1953: The Lost LOOK Photos, along with letters written from the photographer to his wife and essays about Monroe and Vachon.
