Marilyn Monroe memorabilia fetches $400K
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) - Marilyn Monroe's bloomers worn in the 1954 movie "River of No Return" have fetched $44,800 and a bidder has paid $32,500 for her junior high school diploma during a weekend memorabilia auction.
Celebrity auctioneer Darren Julien says bidders paid a total $400,000 for Monroe items during the Hollywood Legends sale at his Beverly Hills gallery.
The items, which included letters, telegrams and photographs, came from the estate of Allan "Whitey" Snyder, Monroe's personal makeup artist for 15 years.
