'Marilyn Monroe' to open 2013 at The Pen

MANILA, Philippines -- "Marilyn Monroe" will welcome 2013 with a bang at the Peninsula Manila.

The party will go full swing on December 31, starting at 9 a.m. at The Lobby, which will be swathed in pink diamond wonderland inspired by the Hollywood bombshell.

The Peninsula Manila is opening its Pink Diamond party for adults (at P7,900, which will include a Met & Chandon Piccolo) and P4,800 for children (under 12).

There will be plenty of opportunities for flirtatious renditions of Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend, photo opportunities with Monroe look-a-likes and even Monroe masks and beauty marks for those who want to channel their inner starlet.

A big band and DJs will keep the party going, while the hotel also promised to keep dinner buffet tables full.

For those who want a quieter party, the hotel is offering Chef de Cuisine Samuel Linders modern European-inspired six-course set dinner for P 6,100 (adults including wine pairing) and P 4,200 (for children) at the Old Manila.

Meanwhile, Spices will also offer la carte New Years delicacies from India, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and Indonesia, while Escolta will open its buffet at P3,200 (adults) and P1,900 (children under 12).

Salon de Ning, on the other hand, will offer a live entertainment and open-bar to guests from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Guests will enjoy unlimited wine, spirits, beer and one Met & Chandon Piccolo at P2,800 per person.

Finally, guests can head to The Lobby at midnight to enjoy the more than 1,000 balloon-drop.
