PALM SPRINGS--Hundreds of people gathered in downtown Palm Springs today to celebrate what would have been Marilyn Monroe's 86th birthday.
It was Marilyn Monroe mania as the bombshell's star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars was re-dedicated.
The Divas of Daytime TV sang Happy Birthday for the crowd. The West Coast premiere of their show at the Palm Canyon Theatre is June 2nd.
Carol Channing graced the crowd with stories of her friendship with the legendary beauty.
Even Rascal, the worlds ugliest dog, who also has a star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars made an appearance.
The celebration was capped off with an enormous cake, marking the birthday of an extraordinary beauty, whose legacy lives on in the city she once called home.
The 50th anniversary of marilyn monroe's death is this august.
