Where can you see Adele perform with Marilyn Monroe and Whitney Houston?

At Legends in Concert in Ballys Atlantic City, of course.

JC Brando recently auditioned for the show after a group of students commented on her resemblance to pop singer Adele.

I substitute teach between big shows and cruise ships, said the Las Vegas-based entertainer. The whole Adele thing came about because I was substituting in a high school and the kids all said I looked like Adele. I didnt know what she looked like, so I did some research and said, Wow, I do look like her, and I can sound like that, too.

Brando will portray Adele in the newly renovated Legends in Concert Theater, formerly the Palace Theater.

Having performed in regional musical theater in Los Angeles, on cruise ships and at the Disneyland Resort, Brando said this is her first time working with the Legends in Concert group.

Adele is an easy character to portray and Ive been having a lot of fun studying her, she said. Ive watched a lot of You Tube videos of her being interviewed and fortunately she just released a concert video shot at The Royal Albert Hall in London, so I got to watch a full-length concert.

Brando said because Adeles career fairly new, theres a more narrow window for her to learn.

Some celebrities change throughout their careers, so really it makes it easier, she said of the singers short career.

Brando will perform several of Adeles hits including, Rolling in the Deep, a medley of Set Fire to the Rain and Rumor Has It, and Someone Like You.

Legends in Concert is an award-winning, Las Vegas-based celebrity tribute show that is celebrating its 29th year of entertaining, and boasts! it feat ures the worlds greatest celebrity tribute artists.

Some artists attribute artists by the way they sing without actually becoming just like that artist, Brando said. But when you fully take on a character, its impersonating. At a Legends show, you feel like your watching that artist.

While Brando has the look and the singing voice, she said the most difficult part of playing Adele is mastering her speaking voice.

One of the hardest things, I think, is her accent, she said. When people watch her, they connect with her appearance, so it will be interesting to see how a third party can use that to connect with the audience.

The current Legends in Concert show line-up includes Adele, Elvis, Bobby Darin, Justin Timberlake, Marilyn Monroe and Whitney Houston.

Thats some variety! Brando said. One thing Legends is trying to do is reach a wide variety of audiences. They want you to be able to come with your grandma, and bring your child, and have there be something for everyone.

Legends In Concert will present a tribute to the late Whitney Houston during her segment, which will pay tribute to the memory of the New Jersey native.

Don Marrandino, eastern division president for Caesars Entertainment, said that 2011 was a big year for Legends and Ballys.

With this new-found partnership, 2012 guarentees to be even bigger, Marrandino said. Ballys commitment to our guests has always been evident in our execution. Weve installed premier dining options with restaurants like The Reserve, Harrys Oyster Bar and Seafood, and Nanking. Weve elevated the property as an entertainment and nightlife destination with world-class boxing and Blue Martini, and now to have a show of the Legends caliber integrated throughout speaks volumes about Ballys Atlantic City and where were headed.

Brian Brigner, chief operating officer for show producers, On Stage Entertainment, said Legends is excited about its return to Atlantic City.

We are honored to be invited to bring our show back! to Atla ntic City, Brigner said. There is no better venue for our production in Atlantic City than the intimate and renovated Lengends in Concert Theater and we look forward to this exciting and innovative extension of our long-time relationship with Caesars Entertainment.
